This fun and fascinating class is an introduction to many of the amazing birds in our community. Using digital slides and bird song recordings, you will learn the basics of birding
in a supportive environment. You will begin building your basic field skills, learning how to use your field guide and optics and employing useful identification techniques. Weather
permitting, much of the class will involve practical field practice. Please arrive for the first class with your binoculars and field guide, if you have them.

CERAMICS - BEGINNING

Come have fun! Learn beginning throwing and hand building pottery skills. There will be lots of demonstrations and help. You will learn how to center and throw small pieces on
the wheel as well as hand building techniques. We will learn how to glaze our pieces and they will be fired in class. Bring a towel and any pottery tools you have to the first class.

SMART DRIVER PROGRAM – AARP

SMART DRIVER PROGRAM – AARP


Smart Driver classes are designed to help maturing drivers maintain safe driving skills and keep their licenses longer. California insurance companies are required by law to offer a discount for three years to seniors aged 50 and over who complete this 2-day class. Students must pre-register by calling Zandra Amato at 831-476-2303. The fee is $20 for AARP members and $25 for non-members.
Note: The class is free for those who have their Medicare Supplement with AARP’s United Healthcare.
Payment is made at the first class. The refresher course is ONLY available to returning students.

Ceramics - Intermediate Sections 7280, 7281

In this intermediate class we will work on individual projects. Wheel throwers and hand buildersare both welcome. We will support and learn from each other as this is more of an open studiospace than a class with set lessons or curriculum. Students should have some experience working with clay. Bring any pottery tools you own and a towel to the first class. If you want to throw on bats please bring your own bats and pins. Pieces will be glazed and fired in class. ***Half hour of Community clean up and whole class sharing of finished work is expected.. SENDEROS - Creating Pathways 

Senderos is a local Santa Cruz nonprofit with FREE programs open to everyone. The mission of Senderos is to create pathways to success and build community by sharing Latino culture through traditional arts and fostering educational opportunities. Tutoring, mentoring, scholarships, and adult skill building programs support biliteracy, academic success, and higher education. Folkloric dance and traditional music classes (ages 7-adult) are offered, with performers sharing the rich cultural heritage of Mexico at many community and school events. **Programs are presented in Spanish with English interpretation available as needed. Los programas se presentan en español con interpretación en ingles disponible según sea necesario.
