93 Successful Years!

Celebrating 93 Years
Watsonville/Aptos/Santa Cruz Adult Education
celebrated 90 successful years in the community! The school was founded in 1928 and it originally was designated as an “Evening High School.” Watsonville has a long and proud tradition of welcoming immigrants, from the Serb and Croatian farmers who built the orchard industries in the 20’s , to the Portuguese and Sicilian fisherman, Japanese truck farmers and Chinese strawberry and railroad workers of the 20’s and 30’s, the Filipino “dollar-a-day” farm workers of the 30’s, through the last half century of Latino or Hispanic immigrants who have worked the canneries and the fields.
In 2015, Watsonville/Aptos/Santa Cruz Education expanded to include Santa Cruz and now encompasses the entire county. Students are also served in Monterey county. It is a division of the Pajaro Valley Unified School District and continues to expand and grow, and thus, becoming a great resource to the community.

In 2016, Watsonville/Aptos/Santa Cruz Education was recognized as the “Organization of the Year” by the Pajaro Valley Chamber of Commerce and Agriculture. We are very humbled by this recognition. Your award means so very much to the staff and students of the community.

In 2020, Watsonville/Aptos/Santa Cruz Education, we experienced the COVID 19 pandemic and continued to serve students virtually. For 2020-2021 we are back to in-person instruction
